Your Questions, Our Answers!
We understand that you may have questions before booking your appointment.
Here are the answers to some of the top questions our prospective patients ask:
We do not direct bill to insurance providers but will give you an itemized receipt at the end of your appointment to submit
for reimbursement. Patients are responsible for ensuring they have checked with their providers to verify how their plan will
compensate for our services.
In the event that you must reschedule or cancel an appointment, we request a minimum of one full business days’ notice (minimum 24 hours’ notice). This allows the opportunity for other patients to see a practitioner with a reduced wait time. Appointments cancelled with less than one full business days’ notice may be subject to a fee of 50% of the scheduled visit.
Your first appointment with one of our naturopathic doctors will be between 60 to 75 minutes in length. Typically, they will discuss your current and past health concerns, and review your overall health and medical history. Your naturopathic doctor will also assess your dietary intake, current medication and supplement regime, recent laboratory results and conduct a complaint-oriented physical exam, if necessary. Further laboratory tests may be recommended to assist your naturopathic doctor in making a diagnosis and assessment.
All of our naturopathic doctors are regulated to practice in Alberta by the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta. For those of you that live outside of Alberta, we are happy to see you if you are able to visit our wonderful clinic space in Calgary. However, we are unable to take on patients that are outside of the province of Alberta at the time of their appointment.
If you have naturopathic medicine included under your extended health benefits, then typically at least some portion of your visits will be covered. Sometimes lab testing and supplements are covered as well. Health spending accounts may also be used for naturopathic medicine. Patients are responsible for ensuring they have checked with their providers to verify how their plan may compensate for our services.
